Kalo lagu ini.. menurut saya.. perpisahan yang terjadi karena kesalahan dari kedua pihak dan menganggap lebih baik berpisah..

Yah... hampir sama dengan lagu pisah2 lainnya.. masih cinta... masih ngarep bisa balik..

Apa juga komentarnya soal beberapa acara besar yang ia hadiri?

MTV Video Music Awards - September 2010 Saya tampil bersama B.o.B, dan itu adalah hal yang menyenangkan. Saya sempat berpikir, "Apakah benar saya tampil disini." Sebab ada banyak bintang besar, seperti Rihanna ada di belakang saya. Eminem duduk si sekitar saya... dan itu membuat saya... membuat saya merasa sangat bangga sebenarnya.


Soul Train Awards - November 2010


Ini adalah penghargaan pertama yang saya dapatkan, dan pidato pertama saya dalam suatu penghargaan. Saya tidak pernah berada di depan mic dan memegang penghargaan, ini adalah pertama kalinya. Saya mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Soul Train, mereka memberikan penghargaan Lagu Tahun ini kepada saya dan B.o.B melalui lagi Nothing On You.


NBC Today - November 2010 Tampil dalam acara ini adalah hal yang baru bagi saya, sebab saya harus bangun jam dua pagi dan harus sudah siap jam enam pagi, dan hari itu cuacanya sangat dingin. Dan lagu-lagu yang saya nyanyikan disiapkan dalam nada yang tinggi sekali. Saya aya sulit menerima kenyataan "saya harus menyanyi sepagi ini". Terlepas dari itu ini adalah pengalaman yang menyenangkan bagi saya. Sebab saya menyanyi secara live dalam acara televise, dan membuat saya tegang sekaligus semangat - berbagai macam emosi saya rasakan saat itu.


Jingle Bell Ball, New York - Desember 2010 Ini pertama kalinya saya mengadakan pertunjukan di Madison Square Garden. Tempat yang sangat legendaris, menakutkan sekaligus menegangkan.

Saya kurang persiapan saat acara ini. Saya baru sampai hari itu juga. Saya bangun jam tiga pagi dan mengejar pesawat supaya bisa sampai tepat waktu, sebab saya tampil hari itu juga. Saya ingat diantara mereka yang hadir ada Stevie Wonder, the Foo Fighters dan Cee-Lo... dengan adanya banyak band hebat dan juga pendatang baru yang hebat... saya langsung berpikir "Semoga saya dapat tampil dengan baik!" Tapi hasilnya sangatlah menakjubkan, saya merasa telah memberikan penampilan yang terbaik.

Cerita Jason Mraz, sang Pria Romantis

Mug dan Kamera Jadi Bawaan Wajib

Di tengah jadwal manggungnya yang padat, Jason Mraz menyempatkan diri menghelat jumpa pers dengan wartawan di Hotel The Sultan, kawasan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, kemarin (7/3). Bahkan, agar lebih intens, lajang kelahiran 23 Juni 1977 itu membuat wawancara round table dengan tiga media per sesi. Dengan sabar, pelantun I'm Yours yang menjadi salah satu pengisi perhelatan besar Java Jazz Festival 2009 itu menjawab pertanyaan.

Apa kabar?

Fantastik dan baik. Meski jadwal saya padat, semua masih sempurna.

Bagaimana cara menjaga penampilan agar tetap maksimal di tengah jadwal tur yang padat?

Ya...(tertawa) hari-hari saya memang sangat melelahkan. Kemarin (Jumat, 6/3) saya baru datang dari Singapura, istirahat sejenak, langsung konser di sini. Untuk bisa berhubungan dengan penonton dengan keadaan seperti itu memang tidak mudah. Harus kerja keras. Saya harus membangun chimestry dari dalam diri untuk bisa utuh kembali dan tampil. Memang, saya bisa nyanyi, main gitar, dan manggung tanpa harus terlibat secara emosional. Namun, saya tidak bisa melakukan itu. Saya bisa mengalami kesulitan tidur kalau itu dilakukan.


Bagaimana penonton di Java Jazz Festival ini?

Amazing, wonderful, dan antusias. Itu yang saya tangkap. I love them all. Ini adalah kali pertama saya ke Indonesia, mereka (penonton, Red) benar-benar antusias. Ini membuat saya sedikit terkejut. Saya tidak menyangka mereka akan seperti itu. Mereka benar-benar enjoy, berbagi musik, dan melantunkan lagu-lagu saya dengan baik. Mereka membagi hidup dan kebahagiaan bersama saya.

Bila dibandingkan, negara mana yang menurut Anda memiliki penonton terheboh?

Well, susah menjawabnya. Masing-masing punya karakteristik yang berbeda. Namun, penonton Asia memang lebih rame daripada yang lain. Mulai Korea, Indonesia, Singapura, dan Malaysia. Penonton Malaysia, misalnya, mereka sangat gila. Saat saya manggung, seolah tidak ada batas di antara kami. Kami sangat dekat, bukan seperti penyanyi dengan penonton. Bila dibandingkan dengan Indonesia, well, batasnya tipis. Saya tidak bisa bilang. Mudah-mudahan nanti malam (kemarin, Red) saya bisa rasakan bedanya. (Mraz manggung dua kali dalam perhelatan Java Jazz Festival 2009 ini, saat malam pembukaan Jumat (6/3) dan tadi malam (7/3)).

Seringnya Anda traveling pastinya membawa barang yang mengingatkan tentang rumah. Apa yang harus dibawa?

Mug saya (saat mengucapkan itu, Mraz menunjuk mug oranye bertutup hitam yang ada di depannya, Red). Ini item yang harus dibawa. Saya butuh minuman panas setiap waktu. Dan, ini membantu saya menyimpan minuman panas. Isinya bisa kopi, teh, atau air putih hangat. Kalau ini, isinya teh (setelah mengatakan itu, dia membuka tutup mugnya dan menyeruput isinya di hadapan wartawan).

Ada barang lain?

Kamera. Saya suka fotografi dan menulis. Benar-benar cinta. Menulis dan fotografi adalah hobi saya selain bermusik. Setiap saya bepergian, saya membawa empat kamera yang berbeda. Semua itu memenuhi tas backpack saya. Saat manggung di pembukaan Java Jazz kemarin, saya membawa kamera polaroid untuk mengabadikan hal-hal yang terjadi di panggung.

Kamera juga membantu saya yang hobi traveling. Saya suka traveling, tetapi tidak suka membeli oleh-oleh dari tempat-tempat tersebut. Suvenir membuat tas saya penuh sesak dan bertambah berat. Saya lebih suka membawa oleh-oleh gambar, itu lebih berbicara. Ada gambar, tempat, dan orang sekaligus dalam setiap jepretan yang saya buat. Dan, itu lebih baik daripada sekadar barang.

Cerita dong tentang album We Dance, We Sing, We Steal Thing.

Bagi saya, album itu adalah perjalanan hidup. Semua tembang yang ada di dalamnya bercerita tentang kehidupan. Saya suka hasil jadi dari album tersebut. Namun, yang paling saya sukai adalah proses membuat dan menciptakannya. Sangat-sangat menyenangkan. Di album itu saya memiliki kesempatan untuk menyebarkan energi positif untuk pendengar. Saya membiarkan pancaran sinar matahari dalam hidup dan harapan-harapan saya didengarkan banyak orang. Saya membagi kebahagiaan itu bersama mereka. Lewat album itu, saya juga mengucapkan syukur dan penghormatan kepada orang lain. Itu luar biasa.

Ada 12 tembang dalam album itu. Lagu apa yang menjadi favorit Anda?

Hampir semua. Tetapi, kalau diminta untuk memilih, saya suka Butterfly dan A Beautiful Mess Butterfly, lagu yang sangat groovy. Enak untuk dilantunkan bersama. Untuk Beautiful Mess, energi lagu itu sangat bagus.

Lagu-lagu Anda cenderung romantis. Anda orang yang romantis?

Ha...ha...ha...ha.... Ya, bisa dibilang saya adalah lelaki romantis. Saya selalu romantis. Untuk menciptakan karya manis dan romantis ala saya, Anda harus mengizinkan hati Anda yang berbicara. Simpan dulu apa yang ada di otak Anda, yang biasanya dipenuhi logika, dalam-dalam. Semua pakai rasa dan hati. Cinta itu indah dan membuat dunia berputar. Jadi bagi kebahagiaan itu bersama.

Menurut Anda, romantic mood itu seperti apa?

Wow, pertanyaan sulit (Mraz terdiam sejenak sebelum menjawab). Well, menurut saya, mood romantis adalah perasaan yang membuat segalanya lebih baik.
